Phosphatidylcholine: also called lecithin, is a phosphoglyceride polyunsaturated (phospholipid derivative from glycerol), found in most cell membranes of higher organisms. It has a lipotrophic mobilizing action increasing the fluidity or permeability of the adipose membrane, which promotes lipid component outflow. This event is related to the saturation of fatty acids (when saturation decreases then permeability increases) Thus a polyunsaturated phosphatidylcholine is used. Lecithin acts by increasing the action of enzymes that degrade lipids from cellular membrane. In fat cells, this action increases the fluidity and permeability of the adipose membrane facilitating the release of fat from inside and subsequent resorption.
Sodium deoxycholate: It is the sodic salt from the deoxycholic bile acid. Its action is characterized by decreasing superficial tension and emulsifying fat enhancing lipase action. Therefore fats (hydrophobic) become water soluble, facilitating their solubility and elimination in the intestines. F-PPC use in aesthetics is restricted to small localized fat deposits in patients with ideal body weight or slightly overweight. F-PPC+ is an enhanced version of PPC with L-carnitine, silicium and insulin like growth factor to improve the fat metabolism.
